This is for Round 9 of the Fashion Challenge being held by

in which we were each given a Disney non-human side character from which to draw our inspiration. I was assigned Mrs. Potts from "Beauty and the Beast"

Of course, it doesn't hurt that my favorite color ever is purple, and she had enough of it that I felt I could get away with using it a lot. At first I had considered trying to somehow imitate the dress she wore once she became human again, but I wound up changing my mind for a few reasons. For one, I felt the style didn't quite suit Violette, especially since it was a very basic dress to start with. (Well, she WAS a maid, so, I wouldn't have expected her to be dressing like a queen exactly. *LOL*) For another, the whole point was to draw our inspiration from the non-human aspect of the character. So, I went a bit more abstract with this one. I really liked the patterning that was at her base, so I tried to find various ways to represent it. I also wound up deciding not to try to recreate her cap/lid since it definitely looks like a maid's cap, and that doesn't really suit this dress. So, instead I made a tiara that I thought could work well with the outfit, but still look as though it was somewhat inspired by the original. As always, feedback is welcome and appreciated.
